ACH Engineering's experience in actuators installed on board ships prompted DCN Lorient to ask FOURÉ LAGADEC's Marine Department to assist on its DELTA No. 1 frigate for :
- Technical assistance for start up of the first installation
- Logistical help and supply of additional documentation materials
Other C70 frigates (9 frigates) were already equipped with similar installations.
To meet the specific equipment needs of warships, actuator systems for steering gears have been developed to meet military standards.

Each equipped vessel has two symmetrical installations on the port and starboard. They each include a hydraulic module for power generation and a rudder module equipped with linear actuators. They are controlled by local start-up units and are operated by complex real time control/command devices.
On each side, a device copies the rudder position and gives servo-control instructions and displays rudder angles.
Different operating modes, increased safety features as well as extremely strict mechanical constraints ensure maximum security.
